Competence & Training Officer
Establish Dixstone’s competence and training standard from the ground up and bring every business unit and region together behind it.
Join Dixstone and take ownership of how we keep our people trained, certified and compliant. As Competence & Training Officer you coordinate our competence management processes in support of Dixstone's operational objectives, offshore and onshore. This is a build role in a dynamic environment, not a steady-state administrative one: you will set up processes, bring Dixstone business units onto one Group Standard Matrix, and work with colleagues across regions to make it stick. You report to the Learning and development Business Partner.
What you will do
Own the compliance training matrix across Dixstone Business Units and reconcile BU-specific practices into one consistent standard
Drive the Group Standard Matrix rollout: work directly with each BU's stakeholder representatives to review, correct and align their matrix
Engage directly with our regional operations to align local training and compliance practice with the group standard, including travel to the regions.
Plan, schedule and organise mandatory, regulatory and developmental training, including QHSE requirements and personal certification, with selected training institutes
Monitor personnel compliance against the training matrices and flag gaps to stakeholders
Support the development and implementation of the Competence Management Plan, including competence assessments
Coordinate onboarding and induction together with Crewing, and adjust training plans to workforce movements
Act as focal point for competence and training administration in our HR systems (e.g. OCS HR / Training Portal, IFS, Klara, Petra) and keep records accurate and up to date
Report regularly on training compliance and competence status to HR and QHSE management
Support internal and external audits and the performance appraisal process
Who are we looking for?
Bachelor's degree in HR, logistics or a related field
Demonstrated ability to design or redesign a competency framework or L&D programme from the ground up, not just administer an existing one
Experience coordinating a multi-stakeholder improvement project: planning a rollout and sequencing competing priorities
Independent and structured: you propose a structure, revise it based on real pushback, and stay even-tempered when priorities shift
Able to hold firm on the standard while keeping relationships workable, and to build trust quickly across countries and cultures
Comfortable working with and travelling to operations in Africa
Strong English, written and spoken; French is an advantage
Proficient in MS Office and HR information systems (HRIS, IFS, Klara); an analytical mindset for training and competence data
Familiarity with offshore, maritime or Oil & Gas standards and regulatory requirements is an advantage
