SUMMARY:
The Crewing Officer is responsible for assisting the operations with a focus to always maintaining the vessels with the right personnel onboard.
Liaising with Masters, Operations and Marine Manager, the Crewing Officer is coordinating all tasks to have the right persons onboard: Sourcing, Contracts, Training, Logistics and Travel arrangements.
To succeed, the Crewing officer is working with HR Administrators, Logistic department, travel agents and manning agencies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managing crew changes for allocated Vessels
Travel, Visa and relevant joining documentation management
Crew Management using the Management System OCS HR (Mintra)
Crew planning
Maintaining the crew planning alive for all vessels and update in real time the data base (OCS HR)
Liaising with Masters to identify vacancies and fill the gaps
Maintaining CV data base, with potential candidates
Coordinate sourcing activities (using company network and support from manning agencies)
Liaise with “Subject Matter Experts” to select the right candidates (Operations Engineers, Technical Superintendents and
Masters)
Liaising with Masters to schedule for crew changes
Ensure crew leave cycles are properly managed and that crew are relieved on time
Maximize crew availability by constantly reviewing crew movements and maintaining contact with off-duty crew
Competency Assurance
Management of crew certification validity and expiries
Ensuring pre-joining routines for all crew are properly managed
Checking crew certificate and qualification validity – Update the HR System data base with relevant documentation
(Certificates, biodata, etc…)
Ensure all crew joining the vessel have completed required training before mobilisation
Determine gaps in training against the company Training Matrix
Plan and organise trainings required accordingly
Identifying gaps and address training needs in compliance with the Training Matrix
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Good knowledge of the English language. (French would be a plus)
An adequate work experience in related fields of operations: Offshore and International (Exp. in Africa being a plus)
Adequate knowledge of IT tools, crewing management software and MS Office suite
Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial environment with equivalent position

Being capable to work under pressure (pressure from 24/7 operations)
